The Japanese lifestyle brand Human Made, founded by designer, DJ and entrepreneur Nigo, has partnered with plant-based beverage label Minor Figures to introduce a limited-edition capsule collection that merges café culture with contemporary streetwear aesthetics.
This marks the first collaborative project ever undertaken by Minor Figures, developed through what both brands describe as a shared appreciation for design, simplicity and cultural storytelling. The partnership emerged organically, driven by long-standing familiarity rather than a conventional commercial arrangement.
Originally positioned within the plant-based milk category, Minor Figures has increasingly expanded its cultural footprint beyond food and beverage, aligning itself with creative industries that value visual identity and expressive branding. The collaboration with Human Made reflects this broader shift toward lifestyle-driven brand ecosystems.
Human Made, known for its archival-inspired graphics and utilitarian design language, brings its distinctive aesthetic into dialogue with Minor Figures’ minimalist packaging and bold monochrome identity. The result is a capsule that blends functional everyday objects with collectible design elements.
The collection includes a range of eight co-branded items: a graphic sweatshirt, printed T-shirt, apron, reusable milk bag, oat milk sleeve, ceramic-style bottle, kitchen textile, and a specially designed co-branded oat milk carton. Each item reflects a shared emphasis on utility, design clarity and subtle playfulness.
According to Minor Figures’ co-founder and CEO, the collaboration reflects a natural alignment between both brands’ creative values. He emphasized a mutual focus on quality, simplicity and the idea of designing products that sit at the intersection of function and cultural expression.
He also noted that the partnership was built through informal connections within creative circles, highlighting how contemporary collaborations often emerge through personal networks rather than structured corporate processes.
A distinctive element of the collection is the integration of digital interaction. Select pieces include embedded NFC-enabled components that allow users to access exclusive content curated by Nigo, extending the experience beyond the physical product into a digital environment.
Although the two brands operate in entirely different sectors, they share overlapping audiences and visual sensibilities, particularly within café culture, contemporary design communities and streetwear-driven consumer groups. This shared cultural positioning forms the foundation of the collaboration.
The capsule also reflects a broader industry trend where boundaries between fashion, food, art and lifestyle products continue to blur. Brands are increasingly exploring hybrid formats that allow them to engage audiences across multiple touchpoints rather than within a single category.
The Human Made x Minor Figures collection will be released in limited quantities through both brands’ online platforms. Pricing will range from accessible everyday items to higher-priced collectible objects, reinforcing the dual nature of the project as both functional product line and design statement.
