Georgia’s wine industry continues its upward trajectory in early 2026, with exports showing steady growth across both established and emerging markets.
According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, a total of 17.3 million liters of wine were exported to 51 countries in the first quarter, generating 53.2 million USD in revenue.
Compared to the same period last year, export volumes increased by 5 percent, while total value rose by 7 percent. This reflects not only stronger demand, but also improved pricing across international markets.
Several key destinations stood out:
Germany: 375,000 liters exported, up 32 percent year-on-year
United Kingdom: 86,000 liters, marking a 9 percent increase
China: approximately 831,000 liters, up 4 percent
The data highlights Georgia’s continued progress in diversifying its export geography. Both European and Asian markets are showing consistent growth, reinforcing the country’s position as a competitive player in the global wine industry.

This expansion is supported by targeted export strategies and a growing international appreciation for Georgian wine, known for its deep-rooted traditions and distinctive production methods.
